About the vacancy

The Timber Group have 3 café/ restaurants and are looking for a apprentice to learn all aspects of being a professional chef working at The Eat Inn Diner.
They prepare , cook and serve a whole range of meals from breakfasts, to snacks, and from lunches to dinner.
Traditional British roast meals contrast with vegan, and curries contrast with quiche on our menus.
They would like to train someone to be able to cook all of the above and start their career off in a professional kitchen, all whilst working towards a level 2 commis chef qualification.
We open day times only, 7 days a week, so, early starts, but early finishes too.
Duties will include:
• Ingredient preparation
• Cooking meals through various different cooking methods
• Plating up and presentation of food
• Taking instruction from senior chefs
• Cleaning and clearing down work stations
• Working in a safe manner at all times
• Portion control

Salary (p/w)£133.20
36 Hours a week minimum

Things to consider: 
Early starts, team start at 7am. We're very busy at peak times. A requirement to work Weekends. 5 days out of 7,
Skills required: 
Manual dexterity always a bonus in the kitchen, but skills can be trained Able to work under pressure Able to take instructions
Future prospects: 
We would look to take on the chef on a permanent basis.
