Keira Homer Commis Chef Apprentice The Kingham Plough From a young age, Keira loved cooking programmes and would watch famous chefs using their hands to create amazing food with just a few ingredients. She figured she wanted to be like them. She studied food nutrition at school and loved exploring food science and learning about new foods. She still does and now sees cooking as having the freedom to experiment and learn about new ingredients and methods to achieve multiple end results. Keira would like to own a restaurant and achieve a Michelin star for doing the thing she loves most - cooking! Her fave kitchen gadget is the food processor – used for almost everything. The Kingham Plough, Potted Goose Situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, this country pub focuses on freshly cooked seasonal food and champions local produce and suppliers with British and Mediterranean influences. With staff shortages in hospitality, the business believes that chefs have a responsibility to reach out and inspire apprentices to work in a professional environment where they can study too. The aim is to produce well-rounded, hard-working chefs who are loyal to the business.
