You can count on us during times like these!

At HIT Training, we’ll continue delivering our training remotely to keep your learners on track through lockdown.

We’re here to support our employer partners and learners through this unprecedented and challenging time as we enter another national lockdown.

If your learners are placed on furlough due to site closures or reduced demand, the good news is they can still continue learning from home!

In line with Government guidelines, we’ll continue delivering our apprenticeship and vocational training remotely. We’ll be taking steps to ensure your employees’ learning journeys remain as uninterrupted as possible.

Learners will be able to access engaging interactive online workshops, attend online versions of our HIT Chef Academies and sign-up to our monthly masterclasses with high-profile hospitality experts to keep learners inspired! Learn more about our online ways of working.

We’ll be liaising directly with each of our employer partners to understand your individual circumstances and put the appropriate support in place for your organisation.

Upskill your workforce during lockdown

Keep your employees engaged during lockdown and prepare them for a successful return to work!

We’ve created a range of training courses which help to develop the skills your employees will need in a post-pandemic future. Course prices start from just £25+VAT per learner – or are included as part of any apprenticeship programme:

We also offer a wide-range of affordable CPD training courses to keep your employees focused and up-to-date with the industry. Our offering includes training in: Conflict Management, Food Safety Awareness, Mental Health Awareness, and Understanding Equality and Diversity to name but a few! Browse our full range of CPD courses here.

Lastly, we have a suite of fully-funded (dependant on meeting a set criteria) further development training courses to really bolster your employees' skillsets! Here we can offer qualifications such as Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Customer Service, Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading, and Level 2 Certificate in Living in a Fair and Diverse Society. Get in touch with your dedicated HIT Training contact to discover what is available fully-funded in your local area!

Redundancy support

At HIT Training, we understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has hit our industry hard, with many businesses having to make some extremely tough decisions.

As a result, we’ve put additional support in place to help any apprentices or hospitality employees who are sadly made redundant.

An apprenticeship doesn’t end if a learner is made redundant! HIT Training will continue delivering an apprentice’s training whilst helping them to find a new employer.

If someone is made redundant within six months of completing their apprenticeship, we’ll continue their training right up to their end-point assessment. If they have more than six months of their apprenticeship remaining, we’ll continue delivering their training for a maximum of 12 weeks – or until they find a new employer.

Learn more in our Apprenticeship Delivery Update here.

We’ve also created an employment support programme for any hospitality or retail workers who have recently been made redundant.

As part of the programme, candidates will attend webinars and complete training courses that will prepare them to re-enter the job market with new skills to boost their CV post-COVID-19.

It was great speaking to our account manager, Catherine, this afternoon and great to hear that HIT are being so supportive with our apprentices, I found the call very positive in a time of crisis, so thank you.

The Learner’s leaflet is great and being sent out to Apprentices and Line Managers following our communication last week providing a great follow up.

Jonathan Foot - Head of Apprenticeships, Compass Group

McMullen’s chose HIT as its sole external provider for Apprenticeships and vocational qualifications in early 2015 and since then we have found them a pleasure to work with.  Their expertise in this sector is superior and they have proven to be a professional and supportive partner who have a passion for learning and development, which matches our own organisation.

Amanda Walden – Training & Recruitment Manager, McMullen's

Encouraging our staff to improve their skills set and supporting them through apprenticeships and training programmes underlines our commitment to help them further develop their own careers. Offering the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship also gives the Brend Group a point of difference which I’m convinced will help attract new members of staff in the future.

Andrew Mosedale - Group HR Manager, Brend Hotels

Our partnership with HIT has certainly made recruitment much easier in a very difficult labour market and gives us a point of difference in an increasingly competitive environment.  Kew Green has also benefited enormously from well trained, skilled and competent staff who contribute significantly to the ever improving and high levels of customer experience that our guests expect and deserve.

Andrew Tregenza - HR Business Partner, Kew Green Hotels

Apprenticeships allow us to give people a great opportunity to develop a career with us and learn a skill or trade that will accompany them throughout their career and life. We see progression to the Level 4 qualification as key to our strategy of providing development at all stages of an employee’s career with Harrison.

Alex Taylor - Training Manager, Harrison Catering Services

HIT Training has provided such an incredible support to us during lockdown, with regular webinar invitations, videocalls and engagement solutions. Our business focus shifted to learning and development and we managed to enrol 3 times more apprentices on training programmes than before!
