The Team Leader - Retail Apprenticeship equips aspiring leaders with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to manage retail teams effectively, drive sales, and enhance the customer experience. Through a blend of hands-on training, expert-led workshops, and personalised coaching, apprentices will develop key competencies in leadership, communication, problem-solving, and operational management. The programme is a foundational step towards a retail manager apprenticeship, supports apprentices in leading with confidence in a fast-paced retail environment.
Employers will set their own entry requirements in order to start this apprenticeship.
14 months + EPA
Progression from this apprenticeship could be into a junior retail management position.
The cost of your apprenticeship is fully covered, with funding arranged through your employer.
Level 3
Apprentices aged 16-18 who have not previously achieved the required level of English and maths, will need to complete Functional Skills as part of their apprenticeship programme.
While Functional Skills are no longer mandatory for adult apprentices (19+), literacy and numeracy skills remain essential for success.
For those without prior English and Maths qualifications, we recommend level 1 maths and level 1 English to support career growth and workplace efficiency.
Our tailored support ensures these skills are seamlessly integrated into the apprenticeship journey, helping every apprentice develop these vital skills.
The End Point Assessment (EPA) for the Team Leader - Retail Apprenticeship includes:
Every apprentice is assigned a personal HIT Trainer, who will guide them through online and face-to-face training, ensuring continuous support and skill development.
Sustainability and Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI) are embedded throughout the programme, ensuring all learners develop an ethical and responsible approach to leadership in retail.
