Introducing the New Normal for HIT’s Apprenticeship Delivery

As the country gets to grips with returning to normal, HIT is delighted to continue supporting you and your apprentices with our award winning training.

Our delivery model will ensure your apprentices continue to receive top quality training at a time and place that’s convenient to you both. Utilising a blended approach, our training incorporates the best of online and face-to-face learning providing a mix of direct teaching and self-directed learning.

And of course along their journey every apprentice is mentored by their dedicated HIT Training Consultant who supports and tracks their progress throughout.

What’s included in HIT’s delivery model?

Online session and progress reviews

Throughout the apprenticeship, your HIT Training Consultant delivers a number of online and face-to-face sessions monitoring the progress of your apprentice and offering support where required. You’ll also discuss areas the apprentice needs to focus on in the workplace, with the opportunity to feed back any concerns you may have.

STAR modules

The HIT online learning platform provides guided learning ‘STAR’ modules, aimed at boosting and developing the apprentice’s knowledge. Each STAR module is linked to and precedes an Interactive Online Workshop.

Interactive Online Workshops

Each apprenticeship has a suite of Interactive Online Workshops that are mapped to the ‘knowledge’ element of the apprenticeship standard. Our interactive online workshops are a great way to engage with our Knowledge Tutors during live learning activities. Apprentices will be encouraged to engage, ask questions and share experiences.

Assessment Session Tutorial

After each Interactive Online Workshop, your HIT Training Consultant will set up an online tutorial or face-to-face observation visit with each apprentice. During these sessions they will complete and review assessments, provide further coaching where required and agree the next steps of learning. Towards the end of their apprenticeship, your apprentice will complete mock assessments linking to the End Point Assessment (EPA) methods. This acts as a good indicator of their readiness for their final assessment.

Support at every stage

At HIT, we nurture and prepare your apprentice for their End Point Assessment (EPA), ensuring they’re both confident and successful. Towards the end of their apprenticeship we will start preparing your apprentice for their EPA by asking them to complete a handful of mock assessment activities. Matched to the criteria of their specific apprenticeship standard, these activities are aimed at giving your apprentice the best chance to excel their EPA.

The EPA will only take place once you, your apprentice and your HIT Training Consultant are confident that your apprentice has developed the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours defined in the apprenticeship standard.

Face-to-Face Chef Academy Workshops are Back!

We’re delighted to announce that our face-to-face HIT Chef Academy workshops are back with a bang!

Our culinary apprenticeships are enriched with access to our award-winning HIT Chef Academy workshops – covering a range of subject areas from game and offal, to brand standards, through to vegetables and vegetable protein.

To keep your apprentices and our chefs safe, we’ve put in place a handful of robust COVID-safe precautions and processes. Everyone taking part will follow social distancing guidelines, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) – including face masks and gloves – and be encouraged to complete a rapid lateral flow test with a negative result ahead of attending.
