HIT Heroes Apprentice and Employer of The Year 2020 Announced

The best of HIT Training’s apprentices and apprenticeship employers were today celebrated in a unique online celebration event championing all the 2020 HIT Heroes Award Winners.

Also revealed were the winners of the all-important top apprenticeship superheroes: HIT Heroes Apprentice and Employer of the Year 2020.

After a competitive public vote, the live awards premier crowned RNLI’s Gabriel-Razvan Petcu as the ultimate HIT Hero Apprentice of the Year 2020 – stealing an overwhelming volume of the apprentice votes.

Accepting his award, Gabriel said: “I’ve been supported by a group of amazing people at both HIT Training and the RNLI. This wouldn’t have been possible without the millions I’ve questions that I’ve asked and the millions of answers I’ve received! I’m really, really happy and speechless!”

Beating off stiff competition, specialists in late night entertainment and bar venues, The Deltic Group, soared to the top with their inspirational apprenticeship programme, achieving the highest number of public votes and taking the prize of HIT Hero Employer of the Year 2020.

Ollie Jordan, Learning and Development Manager for The Deltic Group, said: “We’re thrilled to win this award! We’ve obviously seen a good progression of students through our programmes progressing into management positions. With the hospitality sector a little bit up in the air at the moment, this gives us some pride and joy in our programme after a particularly bad year.”

The HIT Heroes Awards recognise the important role apprenticeships play in empowering people within the hospitality industry and tackling the skills shortage.

You can catch-up with the comic book themed HIT Heroes 2020 Award Winners Celebration Event Premiere on-demand through HIT Training’s Facebook or YouTube channel.

The awards showcase the diverse range of apprenticeships in hospitality, with a number of different categories to enter, and celebrates apprentices’ individual development and drive to become the hospitality leaders and stars of the future.

Applications for the 2021 HIT Heroes Awards will open in the New Year! In the meantime, read our 2020 winners’ stories in our HIT Heroes Hall of Fame.
