Access Global Opportunities for Your Apprentices

Now is the time to unlock life-changing experiences for your apprentices as the Turing Scheme marks its second year of funding for learners.

Whether you’re a small independent trader, an SME or a large national, the scheme invites students, including apprentices, to apply for funding for projects abroad in partnership with their employers.

With a deadline of 4pm on Friday 29th April 2022 to submit applications, we’re keen to hear from employers to discuss the far-reaching benefits of this scheme.

What is the Turing Scheme

The Turing Scheme is the UK’s global programme to study and work abroad established by the Department for Education in 2021 as a replacement for the European Union Erasmus Programme following Brexit.

Our registration for the scheme is underway and we’re now welcoming nominations and suggestions from employers for potential international partners and venues.

We will also be working with specific sector trade associations including the Institute of Hospitality (IOH) to build up a portfolio of international partners.

While the application is a straightforward online system, themes of international engagement, levelling up, positive impact and value for money must be detailed in order to qualify for funding.

Participation in a Turing Scheme placement gives your apprentices the chance to develop new skills, gain vital international experience and boost their employability.

During a placement, they will develop professional practice abroad and a wide range of soft skills and language skills. They will also build relationships with international peers and gain fresh ideas which, in turn, will give your business a better understanding of other cultures and best practice.

We believe establishing connections around the globe has a positive impact on business and whether you’re in hospitality, the care sector, early years, or leadership and management, we’d love to hear from employers with links abroad who are willing to send apprentices on the scheme.

We’d also like to point out that the Turing Scheme is another flexible approach now offered to employers of apprentices to enable them to maximise their talent development.
