Train your staff through hospitality apprenticeships

Train your staff through hospitality apprenticeships

Why invest in a hospitality apprenticeship programme?

A hospitality apprenticeship with HIT Training is the perfect way to secure the future of your workforce. By partnering with a specialist provider like HIT, your business can develop a strong talent pipeline and ensure a steady stream of highly skilled professionals for years to come.

How hospitality apprenticeships work

There are many benefits of offering an apprenticeship programme within your business. You could attract top talent, upskill your team, and enhance the sense of loyalty your employees feel towards your company through hospitality apprenticeships.

Aspiring hospitality professionals require training. Other businesses are already providing it and getting ahead of the competition by attracting the best people to their hospitality courses. Apprenticeships provide a proven pathway to not only attract but also retain top talent, with many apprentices remaining with the business beyond their training.

What is an apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes that offer practical work experience alongside formal, assessed learning (either face-to-face or online). Your hospitality apprentices will work alongside experienced members of your existing team, in order to learn from the professionals and instil them with the knowledge and behaviours they need to succeed.

Your apprentices will also benefit from sessions with their own HIT Vocational Trainer, who will help them to learn the theoretical aspects of the job, before they are assessed on what they have learned. At the end of their course, an apprentice takes an ‘end point assessment’, which if successful, is graded at either ‘pass’, ‘merit’, or ‘distinction’. A level 2 apprenticeship is worth the equivalent of five good GCSEs, but there are different levels all the way up to the equivalent of a master’s degree.

There are different levels of government funding available for businesses that provide apprenticeships, depending on the size of your business. Find out how to get apprenticeship funding via our hand guide.

Hospitality apprenticeship courses available with HIT Training

Hospitality Accommodation Team Member Apprenticeship

Apprentices on this course will learn the essential skills to deliver great customer service. This is a level 2 apprenticeship that takes 8 months to complete.

Hospitality Supervisor Apprenticeship

A hospitality supervisor is often in charge of a team of staff within a hospitality business. This apprenticeship teaches the leadership and organisational skills required to succeed in such a role. This is a level 3 apprenticeship – making it an ideal next step following completion of the hospitality team member apprenticeship – and takes 12 months to complete.

Hospitality Manager Apprenticeship

Hospitality managers can specialise in a range of areas, such as front desk, events, or food and beverage service management. Apprentices will learn to take on responsibility for their business’ vision and objectives, and develop their business acumen and planning skills. This level 4 continues the progression of HIT hospitality courses, and lasts 18 months.

Hospitality Operations Manager Apprenticeship

Those who complete the Hospitality Operations Manager Apprenticeship will learn the skills necessary to provide exceptional guest experiences across entire hospitality businesses. Your ambitious, high-level apprentices will learn to lead high-performing teams and bring success to your organisation. Level 5 apprenticeship, 18 months to complete.

Food and Beverage Team Member Apprenticeship

Equivalent level to the Accommodation Team Member Apprenticeship, the food and beverage team member apprenticeship allows greater specialisation for your apprentices. Level 2, 12 months to complete.
